Zielen und Feuern - das war das Motto im Resort am vergangenen Wochenende. Ganz offsichtlich wurde es für die Gäste bei dem internationalen Paintball Turnier, das den ehemaligen Parkplatz des Disney Village in Beschlag nahm. Laut der französischen Tageszeitung Le Parisien besuchten fast 70.000 Zuschauer die Veranstaltung, bei der 152 Teams aus 40 Nationen um Punkte für die Weltmeisterschaft kämpften. Die Gäste konnten die Teams dabei beobachteten, wie sie sich auf einem eigens errichteten Spielfeld bekämpften oder aber Souvenirs und Ausstattungsgegenstände für ihre eigene Paintball-Ausrüstung in einer Zeltstadt erwerben, die ebenfalls auf dem ehemaligen Parkplatz errichtet worden war. Die Siegerteams erhielten dann am Sonntag auf der Central Stage im Disney Village ihre Pokale.
Ebenfalls mit "Zielen und Feuern" befasste sich das Entertainment Department, das das neue Feuerwerk 'Wishes' nach Parkschluss im Disneyland Park einmal komplett durchlaufen ließ. Laut einiger Quellen war dabei auch ein Filmteam anwesend, das erste Aufnahmen produzierte. Die Probe vereinte bereits alle Elemente: Feuerwerk, Musik, Projektionen, Illumination und Laser-Effekte. Aktuell wird im DLP.info Forum heiß diskutiert, ob die Projektioren dafür ausschließlich in den Steinen und Gebüschen vor dem Schloß versteckt sind, oder ob sie sich teilweise auch in der Konstruktion des 'Wishes'-Logos auf der Central Plaza befinden. In letzterem Fall würde dies bedeuten, dass der komplette obere Bereich der Central Plaza vor dem Schloß vor dem Feuerwerk geräumt werden müsste - ein Albtraum für die Castmember, finden die Feuerwerke ab 16. Juli doch täglich um 23.15 Uhr statt, d.h. nachdem alle Länder außer der Main Street, U.S.A., geschlossen wurden und sich dort folglich alle Gäste aufhalten. Ob dem wirklich so ist, sollte spätestens am Samstag den 16. Juli bekannt werden, da alle CMs am Freitag den 15. Juli im Rahmen der CM-Sommer-Party ein exklusives Preview von 'Wishes' erleben dürfen.

According to the French daily nearly 70,000 guests came to event, to see the 152 teams from 40 nations compete for points in the paintball world cup series. Guests were able to watch the teams battle it out on a specially designed course and shop for merchandise or their personal paintball equipment at a tent city also set up on the parking lot. The top teams received their awards on Sunday at the Central Stage of the Disney Village.
But there was more aim and shoot as the entertainment department ran a complete rehearsal performance of the new fireworks spectacular 'Wishes' inside the Disneyland Park after park closure. According to some sources a film crew was on-site to get first footage. The rehearsal already featured all elements: music, fireworks, projections on the castle, illuminations and laser effects. Currently a discussion is raging on the DLP.info Forum whether the projections are done from projectors hidden in fake rooks and fake bushes right in front of the castle, or whether the projectors are located inside the logo structure on Central Plaza. In the latter case the top quarter of the Plaza would have to be cleared of all guests prior to the fireworks - a nightmare for the CMs of guest flow as the fireworks are scheduled for 11.15 pm every night as of July 16, which means all lands but the Main Street, U.S.A., will be closed forcing all guests into this area. A definite answer should be coming in not later than Saturday July 16, as all CMs are treated to an exclusive CM-preview of the spectacular Friday July 15 as part of their CM-summer-party.
