After months of rumors and "unofficial confirmations" Disneyland Resort Paris is finally revealing more details about the upcoming summer season 2006. So what can you look forward to in the Disneyland Park?
It officially starts on July 14, when Disney's Fantillusion returns to the Disneyland Park as nightly parade (till August 27). And once the magical lights have glowed away it is once again time for fireworks. To celebrate Bastille Day a special firework is prepared for July 14, but from July 15 till August 27 "Wishes" once again returns to the park. Even so the show featured numerous projections, illuminations and some impressive laser effects it met with major criticism for its lack of fireworks last year - a problem that was worked on throughout the last summer. While the press release once again mentions fireworks as high as 300 meters above Sleeping Beauty Castle, it stresses the magical "poetic" experience, the projections and especially a supposed story about the quest of Pinocchio to become a real boy and of Cinderella to become a princess. While Pinocchio was already featured last season, the mentioning of Cinderella could imply that a whole new, second story line has been added, which could translate in new projections, effects etc.
Anything else noteworthy? Certainly "Tarzan, The Encounter" will continue its already started run (till September 24) and the hit-show "The Legend of The Lion King" is presented in the Videopolis year-round. But what about "Winnie the Pooh and Friends too"? The rumors about the shows move from the open air Castle Stage into the Fantasy Festival Stage are finally confirmed. Strangely the show is not presented year 'round in the indoor theater but only from July 14 till August 27 - which makes one wonder: why the move? While the Fantasy Festival Stage is no longer sitting empty, now the Castle Stage is sitting empty. Plus: the show always was extremly popular easily filling the whole seating area of the Castle Stage. In the Fantasy Festival Stage guests now will be able to enjoy the show even in rain, but the capacity is greatly limited in comparison. Hopefully it won't take as many years to bring something new to the Castle Stage as it did in the case of the Fantasy Festival Stage - so far no new plans for the prominently placed open air stage have been announced. But back to Winnie the Pooh: his show seems to have received not only a new home but also an updated storyline, now featuring at least one new segment dealing with the search for the rainbow, that is said to have magical powers making dreams come true...
Another classic continuing its run is the "Wonderful World of Disney Parade" this summer supposed to feature the floats of Steamboat Willie, Snow White, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Mary Poppins and Dumbo. Nothing new here? Well, according to the press release each float is supposed to feature its own musical score which would indicate a return to the 1992 traditions.
And finally there is also one big surprise: Captain Jack Sparrow will roam Adventureland (most probably: Adventure Island and the close surroundings of Pirates of the Caribbean) in July posing for photos and promoting the upcoming, second Pirates of the Caribbean movie, which is released on August 2 in France (and is currently already promoted worldwide e.g. by the Black Pearl sailing boat taking part in the Volvo Ocean Race)!

Nach Monaten voller Gerüchte und "inoffizieller Bestätigungen" hat das Disneyland Resort Paris jetzt die Details für die kommende Sommer-Saison 2006 veröffentlicht. Worauf also können sich die Gäste im Disneyland Park freuen?
Los geht es offiziell am 14. Juli, wenn Disney's Fantillusion in den Disneyland Park zurückkehrt (bis zum 27. August). Jeweils im Anschluss, wenn die Lichter der Parade gedimmt sind, erhellt dann ein Feuerwerk den Himmel über dem Dornrösschen Schloss. Am 14. Juli handelt es sich dabei um ein einmaliges Sonderfeuerwerk anlässlich des französischen Nationalfeiertages, aber vom 15. Juli bis 27. August kehrt dann "Wishes" für eine zweite Saison zurück. Trotz zahlreicher Projektionen, Illuminationen und teils beeindruckender Laser-Effekte war das Spektakel im vergangenen Jahr wegen des enttäuschenden Feuerwerk-Anteils schwer kritisiert worden - allerding auch noch während der Saison in diesem Bereich immer wieder überarbeitet worden. Auch in diesem Jahr hebt die Pressemitteilung wieder die Pyrotechnik hervor und betont die bis zu 300 Meter über dem Schloss erstrahlenden Raketen. Allerdings wird auch die "poetische" Komponente betont, die Projektionen und ganz besonders eine Geschichte, die erzählt werden soll - wie Pinocchio ein echter Junge und Cinderella eine Prinzessin werden will. Während die Geschichte von Pinocchio bereits teilweise im vergangenen Jahr aufgenommen worden war, deutet der Hinweis auf Cinderella an, dass eventuell eine komplett neue, zweite Story integriert wurde, die eigentlich durch neue Projektionen, Effekte etc. realisiert werden müsste.
Was gibt es sonst zu vermelden? "Tarzan, The Encounter" setzt natürlich seine bereits begonnene Laufzeit fort (noch bis zum 24. September) und die Hit-Show "The Legend of the Lion King" ist ebenfalls weiterhin rund um das Jahr im Videopolis zu sehen. Aber was ist mit "Winnie the Pooh and Friends too"? Die Gerüchte über den Umzug der Show von der (open air) Castle Stage in die überdachte Fantasy Festival Stage wurden nun endlich bestätigt. Überraschend ist daran jedoch, dass die Show trotzdem nur vom 14. Juli bis 27. August zu sehen ist. Warum also der Umzug? Nun steht lediglich statt der Fantasy Festival Stage die Castle Stage leer. Außerdem ist die Zuschauerkapazität der neuen Spielstätte deutlich geringer. Hoffentlich wird jedoch schon bald eine neue Bespielung für die Castle Stage bekanntgegeben - bisher gibt es dazu aber noch nicht einmal Gerüchte. Aber zurück zu Winnie: seine Show hat nicht nur eine neue Spielstätte gefunden, sondern wurde auch inhaltlich überarbeitet. Neu ist wenigstens eine Szene in der es um die Suche nach einem Regenbogen geht, der durch seine magischen Kräfte Wünsche erfüllen soll...
Der Klassiker schlechthin, die "Wonderful World of Disney Parade" wird auch diesen Sommer weiterhin die Gäste unterhalten - mit dabei sind die Wagen von Steamboat Willie, Schneewittchen, Dornrösschen, Cinderella, Die Schöne und das Biest, Aladdin, Mary Poppins und Dumbo. Also nichts neues? Nun, glaubt man der Pressemitteilung so wird jeder Wagen seine eigene musikalische Untermalung haben, was eine Rückkehr zur Tradition von 1992 andeutet.
Zum Abschluss aber noch eine echte Überraschung: Captain Jack Sparrow wird im Juli Adventureland durchstreifen (wohl hautpsächlich Adventure Isle und die Umgebung der Pirates of the Caribbean Attraktion), um für Photos zu posieren und den neuen Pirates of the Caribbean Film zu promoten, der am 2. August in die französischen Kinos kommt (und zur Zeit bereits weltweit beworben wird, z.B. durch die Teilnahme des Black Pearl Segelbootes am Volvo Ocean Race)!
