Shortly before park closure tonight (Saturday) the Disneyland Park at Disneyland Resort Paris has encountered a sudden, total power outage. All attractions immediately turned off in their designated "save mode", since for unknown reasons the emergency power system of the resort did not kick in.
According to the local energy company crews are feverly working on returning power to the park, but since the fault has not yet been identified, it is expected that the power won't be back before tomorrow (Sunday) morning - but still well in time to allow a regular operation of the park. All guest were savely evacuated out of the attractions, no injuries have been reported.
Unfortunately the lighting system in the park turned off as well. While CMs were able to make sure that all guests have left Discoveryland, Fantasyland and Frontierland as well as the Main Street U.S.A., the dense foliage, small walkways and hidden corners of Adventureland and especially Adventure Isle are proofing difficult. Cast members with torches have been searching the area to make sure no guests are lost in the labyrinth-style area. Also the Tam Tams have chimned in and are "performing" in front of the isle to provide guests who might still be in the area a "beacon" to orient to.

Kurz vor Parkschließung heute (Samstag) wurde der Disneyland Park im Disneyland Resort Paris von einem plötzlichen, totalen Stromausfall heimgesucht. Alle Attraktionen schaltet sich automatisch im "Sicherheits-Modus" ab, da aus unbekannten Gründen das Notstromsystem des Resorts nicht ansprang.
Laut Angaben der lokalen Energieversorger arbeiten die Crews fieberhaft daran, die Stromversorgung wieder herzustellen. Da die Ursache des Ausfalls jedoch noch nicht gefunden wurde, rechnen sie damit, dass die Arbeiten sich bis in den frühen Sonntag ziehen. Der Parkbetrieb wird jedoch am Sonntag nicht mehr beeinträchtigt sein. Alle Gäste wurden ohne Probleme aus den Attraktionen evakuiert. Zu Verletzungen ist es nicht gekommen.
Leider ist natürlich auch das Beleuchtungssystems des Parks betroffen. Während Castmember sichergestellt haben, dass alle Gäse Discoveryland, Fantasyland, Frontierland und die Main Street, U.S.A., verlassen haben, erweist sich das Adventureland und hier besonders Adventure Isle mit seiner dichten Bepflanzung, engen, verwundenen Wegen und vielen Verstecken als problematisch. Castmember mit Taschenlampen durchsuchen den Bereich, damit keine Gäste verloren herumwandern müssen. Zudem helfen die Tam Tams, die vor der Insel trommeln, um Gästen eine akkustische Orientierungshilfe zu liefern, sollten sie noch über die labyrinth-artige Insel irren.

When Walt Disney created Disneyland he wanted to have the opportunity to tell his stories in three dimensions. He was able to build the sets for his stories - but a certain element was missing: characters.

Als Walt Disney Disneyland erschuf wollte er die Möglichkeit haben seine Geschichten dreidimensional erzählen zu können. Er konnte die Sets für diese Geschichten bauen - doch ein gewisses Element fehlte noch: die Figuren.
