Smoking in the family environment of the Disneyland Resort Paris - there is just one other topic resulting in similar heated discussions on the DLP.info Forum: how to deal with the numerous European languages. While the latter will continue to entertain (or to enrage, depending on whom you speak to) readers of the Forum for the years to come, the smoking discussions has taken a first step to its (hopeful) demise in the future.
The resort has decreed a strict non-smoking policy for a(nearly) all its restaurants as already discussed nearly a month ago online. Still, as turned out there is ONE option left for smokers to enjoy a meal and light up: The Steakhouse in the Disney Village.
Interestingly The Steakhouse is operated by the outside company Flo. So far no reasons have become known, why this one restaurant still allows patrons to light up while guests in the vincinity are trying to enjoy their meal. Flo already had established a strict non-smoking policy prior to the rest of the resort in Annette's Diner, so it is not a general Flo-policy to allow smoking in their restaurants.
To make the policy better known to guests prior to choosing a restaurant the resort in the meantime has added according notifications to the menues displayed outside the restaurants as can be seen on the photos.
