According to the latest reports the Molly Brown still sits in the rear corner of the Rivers of the Far West blocking the track. Only in the meantime certain parts of it have been covered with a tent, to block the view of guests riding past on the Disneyland Railroad as well as protect any possible clues from the weather. Luckily Eli who took a ride on the Disneyland Railroad in the evening hours of May 17th was able to get a close up shot before the tent was erected. If you look closely the back of the steering cab on the top level clearly has been blackened - but as no extensive damage is visible, this seems to be a result of the thick smoke that came out of the engine room. Tom2 aka TomTom who happened to visit the Disneyland Park during the accident also was able shed a bit more light on what was going on: In Part 1 of his trip-report in the DLP.info-Forum he reports a conversation with a family who was on-board of the Molly Brown during the fateful trip. According to them a loud "bang" preceded the thick smoke out of the engine room. Castmembers reacted swiftly and started evacuation, children and women first. The report also mentions for the first time, that the first aid provided in the Lucky Nugget Saloon proofed a bit complicated for some of the guests, as the doctors who rushed to the emergency scene did only speak French. It seems guests received VIP FastPasses to compensate them for the accident - but guests who complained rather intensively were granted a free extra night and day in the resort.

Tom2 alias TomTom, der zufällig während des Zwischenfalls im Disneyland Park war, konnte ebenfalls weitere, neue Informationen zur Verfügung stellen: In Teil 1 seiner Trip-Reports im DLP.info-Forum berichtet er von einem Gespräch mit einer Familie, die an Bord der Molly Brown war, als das Feuer ausbrach. Demnach war vor dem Auftreten des dicken Rauches ein lauter Knall aus dem Maschinenraum zu hören. Die Castmember reagierten umgehend und begannen mit der Evakuierung der Gäste, Kinder und Frauen zuerst. Der Bericht enthüllt jedoch auch, dass für einige Gäste die Erstversorgung im Lucky Nugget Saloon sich als etwas schwieriger erwies, da die herbeigeeilten Ärzte nur Französisch sprachen. Als Entschädigung erhielten die Gäste VIP FastPasses - lediglich wäre sich intensiver beschwerte erhielt eine kostenlose Verlängerung des Aufenthaltes um einen Tag im Resort.
