When Walt Disney created Disneyland he wanted to have the opportunity to tell his stories in three dimensions. He was able to build the sets for his stories - but a certain element was missing: characters.

Das sich in den Himmel reckende Dornrösschen Schloss ist nicht nur ein magischer Anblick, sondern auch der Mittelpunkt des Disneyland Parks und sein allseits bekanntes Wahrzeichen - doch auch sein Inneres kann entzücken.
Pirates of the Caribbean ist ein echter Disney Klassiker, der daher auch weltweit in den Disney Themenparks zu finden ist - wobei keine Ausgabe eine Kopie der übrigen ist, sondern alle mehr oder weniger kleine Verbesserungen und Veränderungen aufweisen.

Wie zu erwarten war, hat die internationale Presse die Mitteilung von Euro Disney S.C.A., das die Amtszeit des 5. CEOs der Gruppe, Andre Lacroix, mit sofortiger Wirkung endet, aufgegriffen. Interessanterweise bieten bisher aber lediglich die LA Times und der Orlando Sentinel weitergehende Hintergrundinformationen, über die wesentlichen finanziellen Eckdaten der Gruppe hinaus. In den inhaltlich wenn auch nicht wörtlich identischen Berichten wird daraufhingewiesen, dass die Gruppe in dem am 30. September abgeschlossenen Geschäftsjahr einen Rekordverlust von 190 Millionen US-$ ausgewiesen hat und auch in der ersten Hälfte des neuen Geschäftsjahres weiterhin Verlust gemacht hat - 105 Millionen US-$. Dabei wird angedeutet, dass dies ein Grund für die Entscheidung zu Gunsten von Holz gewesen sein könnte. Außerdem wird Richard Greenfiled, ein Medien-Industrie-Analysten von Fulcrum Global Partners, mit den Worten zitiert "Vor dem Hintergrund der Jahre des anhaltenden Kampfes, versuchen sie die richtige Mischung im Management dort drüben zu finden, das überrascht mich überhaupt nicht" - womit er die bisher einzige Person außerhalb von Disney ist, die sich dahin gehend geäußert hat, von dem plötzlichen Ausscheiden von Lacroix nicht überrascht zu sein.
Die Börsen zeigen sich wenig beeindruckt von der personellen Veärnderung - der Aktienpreis schwankt heute zwischen 10 und 11 Euro-Cent. Damit ist zwar kein neuer historischer Tiefstand erreicht, wohl aber erneut der Tiefstand der vergangenen 12 Monate vom 27. April diesen Jahres von 10 Euro-Cent eingestellt (Details bei Bloomberg).

As was to be expected the international press reported the announcement of Euro Disney S.C.A. that the tenure of its fifth CEO, Andre Lacroix, would end with immediate effect. Interestingly so far only the LA Times and the Orlando Sentinel provide background information exceeding the basic financial data of the group. In their content-wise even so not wording wise identical coverage both newspapers point to the "record loss of nearly $190 million for Euro Disney in the fiscal year ended Sept. 30" and the fact that the resort continued to loose money in the first half of the current business year - $105 million - which they indicate might have played a role in the decision. They also cite Richard Greenfiled, a media industry analyst with Fulcrum Global Partners saying "Given the years of continuing struggles, they're trying to find the right mix of executives over there, this doesn't surprise me at all." - which would make him pretty much the only person outside Disney who has spoken up so far not to be surprised by the sudden exit of Lacroix.
The markets seem to be rather unimpressed by the personnel change - the shareprice today constantly moves between 10 and 11 Euro-Cent today, which while not a new historic low equals the one-year low of 10 Euro-Cent from the 27th of April this year (as can be seen at Bloomberg).
