Since yesterday the Disneyland Park is testing the "The "Demand Based Operating Hours" under which the operating hours of the theme park are flexible adjusted to the number of guests as reported earlier. But at least today, on the second day of the tests and the first regular week day of the test period, guests unfortunately could not notice this. Why?
The park had announced a regular operating schedule from 10.00 am till 6.00 pm for Monday through Friday of this week (basically cutting it done to the same basic hours the Walt Disney Studios Park is already operating under) and would have announced any adjustments based on attendance on short notice. But at least today the park actually closed at 6.00 pm - this "no adjustment" means that the treshold of 21,000 guests was not reached, which would be required for an opening till 8.00 pm, which used to be the regular, earliest closing time of the park in the recent years. While certainly not great for guests on-site this at least means the park is able to gauge what kind of guest reactions such early closures cause and how it influences the Disney Village and the Disney Hotels. Still, let's hope for guests that the treshold might be reached in the coming days.
