Wer trotz des versperrten Eingangs an der Liberty Arcade (siehe Photo oben) den Weg in das Emporium fand, konnte dort die ersten Produkte der Merchandise-Kollektion 2006 erstehen!
Nachdem die Mehrheit der Gäste nicht mehr in diesem Jahr in das Resort zurückkehren wird und das Interesse an aktuellen Plannern, Agendas, Kalendern etc. für 2005 um diese Jahreszeit verständlicherweise stark zurückgeht, hat das Merchandise Department reagiert und bereits die ersten Produkte für 2006 in die Läden gebracht, so z.B. die Agenda 2006 (wie links zu sehen). Außerdem war vorgesehen, dass das Emporium in der vergangenen Woche eine komplett neue Produktkategorie erhalten sollte: alles für das Haustier, z.B. Hundemarken in Mickey-Form, Disney-typisch gestaltete Hundeleinen etc. Ähnliche Produkte haben sich bei den Besuchern der US-Themenparks als sehr populär erwiesen, die gerne für ihre zu Hause gebliebenen vier-pfotigen Freunde ein Mitbringsel besorgen.
Für die kommenden Monate wird das Emporium scheinbar weiterhin optisch zweigeteilt bleiben, im unteren Bereich bereits frisch-renoviert in hellen Farben, im oberen Bereich aber weiterhin in klassischen, dunklen Tönen. Die Pläne auch diesen Bereich zu renovieren kommen jedoch weiter voran. Genaue Daten für die notwendige Schließung sind allerdings noch nicht offiziell, allerdings bemüht sich das Management des Shops die Arbeiten bis nach dem großen Andrang der Sommermonate zu verschieben.

As the majority of the current visitors will not return before the end of the year but interest in time planners, agendas, calendars etc. for 2005 understandably wanes at this point of the year, the merchandise department has reacted and already stocked shops with the first items of its 2006 collection, as e.g. the Agenda 2006 (as can be seen on the photo below). The Emporium was also supposed to receive a brand new line of products last week: animal related items as e.g. dog-tags in Mickey Mouse shape, Disney themed dog-lines etc. Similar items have proofed very popular with guests of the US-theme parks which seem to enjoy to bring a present home for their four legged friends that couldn't come along.
For the coming months it seems as if the Emporium will stay divided by color scheme with the lower half in the new, fresh white colors and the upper half still in the original dark, brown colors. But plans are moving ahead to refurbish this section in the new white colors, too. So far no dates for such a rehab have been communicated, but the shop's management would like to postpone it till after the bussy summer months.
